Retired & Special Kitties

Updated March 10, 2010

We love all the kitties here at Indigo Rags, but sometimes a kitty who has been retired from our breeding program lets us know that she wants to have her own special human. When that happens, we look for someone very special indeed to take the absolute best care of these wonderful mama kitties. We also occasionally have a "special kitty" who has had some issue that has made him or her available a little later than as a young kitten. If you are interested in a retired or special kitty, please drop us a to let us know.

Georgia on My Mind — Available

Georgia will be four years old on July 14th. She is a blue classic tabby RagaMuffin. Coda (pictured below) is her grandmother. Georgia would love to be a companion to one of our kittens or even the only pet in a household. She has strong maternal instincts & loves to play with and groom the kittens here. Found often on Paul's lap or resting on top of me when I'm reading, she loves to be affectionate — especially when it is her idea! Georgia has been spayed, and she is available now.

Emerson — Available

Emerson is a special blue tuxedo boy. He is super friendly, wanting to be near us & to spend time in our laps. He's definitely a "follow you around the house" kitty. When he was younger, he developed a skin problem that took awhile to diagnose properly. Thankfully, it has disappeared now with treatment (he has to take half a pill every three days). The medicine is inexpensive (about $2.00 a month), and Emerson takes it easily (no fuss... just open his mouth & in goes the pill). He was born July 3, 2008. He would love to have his own special humans. He also enjoys the kittens & other kitties. He has been neutered, and he is available now.

Oliver — Adopted

Oliver is a silver classic tabby & white boy, born October 17, 2008. He is also a special kitty, having survived pneumonia, which he suddenly got as a kitten last winter. Thankfully, he recovered, and now he's been adopted by Kristen, Jeremy & Clarisse. He lives not too far away now, and he's doing just fine.

Sweet Melody — Adopted

Melody had her fourth birthday on June 20, 2009. She is a blue point mitted Ragdoll with deep blue eyes. She is such a friendly girl. She lives in Santa Cruz with one of her now-grown kittens and her new special people. I know she'll spoil them & they will spoil her, too. Melody had some beautiful kittens while here, including a grand champion kitty girl.

Lovely Coda — Adopted

Coda was three years old when she retired and was adopted by a wonderful couple in southern California. She is a blue point mitted Ragdoll with striking blue eyes and a loving disposition. She was a wonderful mama kitty here, and her new mama writes to me periodically to say that she is happy and doing well.
