Tell me more about those wonderful RagaMuffins...

RagaMuffins, we think, are just the best.

  • Friendly kitties, they meet you at the door when you come home, and they will very often follow you around the house. They adopt you as much as you adopt them.
  • Muffins love to be near their humans. Very often they will curl up next to you, on your lap, on your desk, or in your favorite chair.
  • Their coats are rabbit-like and soft, and they do not mat, making grooming them quite simple.
  • Soft-pawed, they play gently with you and even when they are kittens you are unlikely to be scratched.
  • They make friends with other animals, including dogs, and they get along well with children, too.
  • In general, they seem to know not to scratch the furniture, but they will love a scratching post or kitty furniture. (We discourage declawing, as it is really unnecessary, painful, and traumatic for your cat.)
  • Substantial kitties, they take about four years to reach full size. The females may weigh 12 to 15 pounds, the males 15 to 20 or more.
  • 'Muffins tend to live a long time. It's not unusual for a RagaMuffin to live upwards of 18 years!
  • Because they are so friendly and trusting, we keep our RagaMuffins indoors to protect them from dangers they might not recognize.
  • Currently, there are only a few dozen RagaMuffin breeders in the world. Members of the RagaMuffin Associated Group work hard to preserve the health and wonderful personalities of our breed.
  • If you'd like to learn more about the breed standard, as accepted in AACE, ACFA, CFA, CFF and UFO, it's available on the RAG website.
